Our Vacation To Disney
Chelsea had
experienced her first plane ride, Disney, and trip to the beach, this week.
Chelsea, and I went to Disney with my friend-ann, and her husband-drew.
We flew into florida on tuesday morning. chelsea loved the flight,
and looking out the window. She doesn't get the thrill of flying
from me-lol!
we stayed at the holiday inn kids suites in buena vista. our room theme was the endangered species. each morning the hotel had a great breakfast buffet, and a train outside that the kids could ride.
tuesday was
our first day in the magic kingdom. chelsea's first ride was the
dumbo ride-this was a must. it brought back alot of great memories
of my childhood's in florida. chelsea's first autograph was from
minnie mouse, followed by mickey. When we were leaving we got to see the
fireworks. the castle setting was really beautiful. wednesday was
our first full day in magic kingdom. tuesday we rode the monorail
into the kingdom, wednesday chelsea had her first ferry ride-which she
really enjoyed. everyone seemed to enjoy the ferry better, it was
less crowded.
Thursday morning we went to animal kingdom, which was really nice. we went on a safari. chelsea got to see alot of different animals like gazelle, zebras, elephants, crocodiles, and many more. she enjoyed the ride so much, and got so excited when she saw the animals. animal kingdom has a petting zoo for the kids, she got a kick out of that also. everyone was very friendly, and she got the most autographs here. i liked animal kingdom because the characters were more frequent, it didn't take forever to get a picture or an autograph, and the characters can spend alittle more time with the kids.
thursday afternoon was spent in mgm. everyone also enjoyed the park. again the characters were accessible, and the lines were very short. chelsea loved meeting all the characters. i was afraid that their size would frighten her, but she was so excited, and went right up to them. the only 2 characters that scared her was the gorilla from tarzan, and from the lion king. i'm not sure of their names, because we haven't watched those movies yet.
friday morning was spent at coco beach, since it was the closest. chelsea loved the water, she was amazed by the waves, and would laugh so loud when they came in. chelsea loved gathering seashells with mommy-we got a bunch to take home for crafts. from the beach we went to our last stop-universal.
out of all the parks we visited universal was everyone's favorite. universal is more adult oriented, but there is great stuff for small children to do also. we missed the barney show, because we arrived around the time his last show was going on, but she did enjoy playing in his playground. chelsea enjoyed the woody woodpecker rollarcoaster. this ride was her favorite! fievel's playground, and curious george goes to town was really neat, but since the night was chilly she couldn't do too much, because these are water playgrounds. this is a great park to get wet on a hot day. outside of universal there is the citywalk which is amazing. there are all sorts of great restaurants. some of them include my favorite cook-emerils, hard rock cafe, bob marley, nascar, and jimmy buffett's margaritaville-where you can get those famous cheeseburgers in paradise.
we all had a fantastic time especially chelsea and drew-it was their first time at disney. we couldn't have asked for better weather, it was 80 degrees, and sunny, except for the day we were leaving. it started to rain, but who can complain about alittle rain.
all the lines we stood in, the exhaustion, and sore backs we suffered from carrying chelsea was all worth it, because of how excited she was. her smiles, and laughter are embedded in my memory. when we return it will never be the same as this first time.
thank you ann,
and drew for taking myself and chelsea to disney. everyone will have
great memories to last a lifetime.
